Celebrating Failure

Rather than failed, I found a numerous amount of ways for which it does not work.

1) My biggest problem is time management. One part in particular, is making time for studying for exams. For certain exams, such as with statistics and economics, I have continually waited until the day of to study. I try to get myself to start studying a few days prior, but I have failed to do so each time. As a result, I do not score as well on the exams as I would like to.

2) I have learned that time management is not something you just plan, but must follow through with. I have learned that Netflix is my enemy and that picking up shifts at work is not the best to do the week of an exam. I also learned that I should allocate my time generally, not precisely; whenever I plan specific times, I get discouraged when I miss my set deadline and cling to Netflix for support.

3) Failure is a hard thing to deal with. It helps people learn new things. I just wish my failure of time management did not severely affect my grades. Once or twice of failing is where people learn, more than that, like myself, is a persistent habit. I handle failure emotionally because I feel like I have failed at life and am doomed from then on. I learned from this class that failure is a learning process, it does not mean that a person will fail at life because of it. It is still hard to deal with, but failure is a part of life. As a result from this class, I am more likely to take a risk now than I was four months ago.

  1. Kristine,
I face the exact same problem. I know that I need to plan out more time to study for certain exams to get a better grade but why don't I? I am lazy. I really learned my lesson this semester when this caused me to drop Finance and have to pay back Bright Futures $308. 1. I can understand the Bright Futures issue. I dropped Calculus last year and had to pay back a few hundred dollars as well. Not fun!

  2. Hello Kristine! Failure is such an interesting thing to me. Based on my experiences with failure I have discovered that I learn much more from when I fail episode to when I succeed at something. I totally understand that failure is a really uncomfortable place to be in but I believe the strongest thing a person can do in life is react in a positive way to failure by not letting the failure hold you down or define you. Best of luck in your entrepreneurial endeavors! Check out my blog: https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=2458344027561127149#allposts
