Chapter 12: Strategic Entrepreneurial Growth
1) The part of the reading that stood out the most to me was about the entrepreneurial mind-set. The diagram presented was quite interesting to observe. It ranges from a classical bureaucrat to an entrepreneur. I want to aspire to be an entrepreneur based upon this diagram, making change a possibility.
2) The diagram of strategic management process was very confusing. Arrows are going everywhere and organization does not seem to be there. If the diagram was more clear, then it would be easier to understand.
3) My first question for the author is: In the entrepreneurial strategy matrix of independent variables, which one would you pursue? I ask this because I want to know if the author would make an innovation with low or high risk.
My second question for the author is: In terms of the appropriate strategies part of the entrepreneurial strategy matrix, can any of the strategies overlap from section to section? I want to know if there are other possible strategies not noted for individual sections.
4) I disagree with the author about how entrepreneurs believe that strategic planning is too high of a cost and thus, neglect to plan. The resources are nonexistent for this claim. Also, it is possible for entrepreneurs to conduct strategic planning on their own without paying someone to help.
